Aircraft Registration BVI
The Mortgaging Aircraft & Aircraft Engine Regulations, 2012 came into force in the BVI in October 2012. These regulations complement the British Virgin Islands, US Federal Aviation Authority Category One aircraft registry status under the International Aviation Safety program and create the framework for security over aircraft engines and aircraft registration BVI.
Applications for aircraft and / or aircraft engine mortgages should be directed to the Registrar who is responsible for maintaining a register of all registrations.
These new regulations which provide for the filing of priority notices and also make clear provisions for enforcement, transfer, transmission and discharge of mortgages are a significant advancement in this very important area of international finance and provide reassurance to lenders.
